Konnichiha!

Day one in Japan on business and I'm excited! It's definitely been an adventure already.  8 hour flight from Hawaii, slept the entire way (thanks to a little assistance from Tylenol PM).  My coworkers and I caught the subway from the airport to our hotel in Tokyo, that was an experience in itself.  Imagine 2 whites and 1 black in a sea of Asian...we stuck out like sore thumbs. 



One man who was seated across from us on the subway decided to move seats so he could sit next to me and the other female with me.  Talk about creepy, he stared me up and down from the time he got next to me until the train reached his stop.  I figure maybe he'd never seen a black person before, one with curly hair at that, so he couldn't figure out what I was exactly.  He was rocking back and forth and moaning, then to top it all off he burped.  One of those chunky ones too, I thought 'oh God he's gonna throw up on me!' lol. 


The first restaurant we went to didn't have an English menu (as if we were surprised), so we had to rely on the waiter to translate, which wasn't much better because he spoke VERY limited English.  He told us one of the desserts was 'vegetable cake', which we got excited thinking oh great carrot cake...not the case.  I don't know what the hell vegetable this cake was made out of but it was green and very disgusting.  Better luck on dinner tomorrow hopefully.


Anywho I'm now 13 hours ahead of east coast time so that means it's time for bed.
